Response Project

These images were made in response to the black History Walk in Glasgow.

The photographs do not aim to present a clear or linear representation of the walk, but instead reflect how the experience was felt. Through the use of colour, texture, and material detail, the work suggests that histories are often encountered emotionally and sensorially rather than through complete visual clarity. This approach acknowledges that cultural histories, particularly those that have been marginalised, are frequently encountered in fragments — partially visible, interrupted, or embedded within everyday spaces. In this way, the work moves away from literal documentation and instead explores perception as a valid form of response.
